yes, you can get some nasty stuff from ig-bites! if you *do* go to the doc, be sure to tell them igs carry "Gram Negative Bacteria" ... it'll take a certain kind of antibiotic to fight it ...
1st things first tho ...
got Betadine?? (if not, get some to have around!) ... SCRUB the wound out with betadine ... check for any teeth left behind!! ig's teeth come loose rather easily when they chomp people (or other non-ig-food things) and if left in the wound can/will cause probs ...
if it's very deep, or gaping open, seriously consider a trip to the vet, i mean doc ... otherwise, after cleaning it out, i'd glob triple antibiotic ointment on it and cover it with a dressing/large bandage ...
