I don't think this would result in you getting your money back....however, I would make this suggestion to you: contact the breeder. You say he's "well known." Being such, he has a reputation at stake and probably would appreciate knowing what was going on. The reason the reptiles died needs to be traced back to the source (sounds like the pet store in this case). The breeder will probably want to think twice before dealing with them again if he cares about his animals as well as his reputation. Another example would be if it were the carrier then the breeder would need to know in order to not use them again, etc. etc.

I can't put words in to the breeder's mouth but if you contact them they might be able to replace the reptiles at a decent price (say, cost)because of what has happened to you.

If it were me, I'd contact the breeder.
