: It took me a LONG time to figure out what foods my
: iguana liked and did not like! (He is a VERY picky
: eater!) I experimented for quite a while with many
: different foods, and just eliminated those that he
: would not eat and kept those that he did eat. I am
: still finding new foods all the time that he loves!
: What made it hard for me was he liked a lot of foods
: I would NEVER even think of. For example, his
: FAVORITE food is squash (YUCK!).
: He also really enjoys collard greens (but won't touch
: spinach) green bell peppers, cauliflower (but he
: hates broccoli...go figure), radishes and plums. So
: Everyone says that iguanas like strawberries and
: kiwi, but mine won't touch them at all! So it is
: just a matter of trial-and-error to see what your
: iguana likes. Don't get discouraged if your iguana
: won't eat what everyone else's iguana will, because
: each one is unique. Hope this helps out a little bit.
: The others can probably help you more, because although
: my iguana LOVES these foods, the others can probably
: tell you which ones are more nutritional for iguanas.

Use this link, gives excellent examples for food and Ca:p ratio.
You want your Ca:P ratio to be 2:1 or higher. That's the main thing.
I feed Collard, turnip, mustard, dandelion greens as a staple, then switch around
with different foods throughout the month, like green beans, green peppers, kiwi, papaya, escarole, endive, cilantro, butternut and spaghetti squash, yellow squash, asparagus, watercress.
Use the list at Jen S. site and make sure your 2:1, some foods contain oxalates and should be avoided, she tells at her site(spinach, broccoli, cabbage, etc.)
70% Leafy greens
20% veggies
10% fruits
Hope this helps.
