How big is Drake? Since you say he was moving his head etc. I don't think that was it. Some igs are just a little jumpy; for example, one of mine is ready for battle whenever I pass the cage, while the other is completely tame. This one likes to be pet gently down his back, or at least he seems to like it. He is also a compulsive licker; his tongue is out more than my savanna's. Try to bear the pain as long as you can, and hopefully he will settle down. Good luck.
