Hiya S.A., Just wanted to throw in my two cents and really convince you that we don't all agree on alot of things here...hahaha!!!! I always say reand as much as you can and try some of the sugestions and go with what works for you.
When I had my two Igs in their indoor cage I found the astro turf to be very convienent to use and never had any problems with loose strings. I bought a big piece of it and cut several to the size I needed and then used duct tape around all the edges. This kept it from unraveling. When ever one needed replacing I'd just take it out and replace it with another one of the extra pieces. This allowed me to clean and disinfect them on the wkends. Sure did save alot of time during the week.
Good luck with whatever you use but do ditch the kitty litter..... We don't want your Ig to start meowing...:) K
