when i rescued iZ from a bad home, he wasn't even green anymore .... he was 30" nose to tail and weighed LESS than one pound .... (his previous human feed him CANNED green beans and red bell peppers ... period) he was literally skin and bones (you could count his ribs from across the room).... that was 1 1/2 years ago (and MANY vet visits!) he is now 54" nose to tail and FAT (SIX pounds!) very green and ORANGE *grin*

if the little guy in the pet store touched your heart....GO FOR IT!!!! take him to a vet 1st thing and he'll probably be fine!!! (i say THAT because you obviously have the reptile background to take GOOD care of him ....!) don't know if you have igs or not ... but you've got the basic knowledge and IMO THAT is 95% of the battle right there!!!
