Well, keep in mind that "iguana rescues" go on quite often, and generally those animals aren't very healthy to begin with.
Try to bargain with the pet store first to see if you can adopt it and take it off their hands for free. They really shouldn't be selling an unhealthy animal.
Other than that, I'd say go for it! Tell us how it goes and keep the vet's number handy!
