any kind of meat is *not* good for an ig and is potentially *very* harmful in the long run ... igs are herbivores which means that their bodies cannot process animal protein foods ... that means things like any kind of meat and cheeses ...
what happens is that it will eventually damage their kidneys + liver and it will kill them! (i have an ig who is in kidney failure ~ trust me, you DO NOT want to risk this happening to yours!)

even tho your ig really really likes the meat sticks, that doesn't mean they're good for him ... hey, little kids would eat candy all day if you let them right??? *grin* nope! you have to find healthy snacks/treats for either one!

fruit is a good "treat food" ... igs shouldn't have alot of fruit in their diet and so it's a good thing to use it just once in a while ...

IMHO, these are the BEST ig sites for diet info and Melissa's is an excellent site for info on just about *Everything* you need to to about igs!!
