Hi all
Just to let you all know, I have recently become a "New Dad" Of a 2 year old (P)Iguana ;)
Just to let you know, Gilbert is doing fine. Eating like a horse,
still a little nutty at times, when he doesn't get his way. (can't really
fault him for that...he hadn't been handled in two years!) Although I have
come to an understanding, of sorts, with him. It's kinda like reverse quiet
time.
I try to pick him up at LEAST once a day, if not more. He carries on
for ahile, until I sit down on the bed with him. I try to keep him out for
a minimum of 10 minutes. Once We sit down, everytime he fusses, he gets 5
more minutes of me holding him and tickling his little fat belly! Kinda
trying some reverse psychology on him. They say that if you put him back in
the cage when he starts acting up, he learns that all he needs to do is be a
butthead, and he gets his way. Maybe this will teach him, that if he is
good, he gets to go back in. If nothing else, he might learn that (even
though he thinks he does...) he does NOT control me. My Mom, however, has
little or no problem with him. She was the first to spend time with him,
and taught him from day one, that she was (as she puts it) the H.B.I.C.
(look it up) ;)
I had one question though, friend has a snake and says that when it
sheds, it means it's growing. Does this hold true for Igs too? Gilbert
sheds constantly, and I have noticed him geting bigger in the last 4 weeks
since he moved in. Good lord, at the rate he's going, and the rate he's
eating, we should need a gutted doublewide mobile home for him to live in.
I am just wondering how long it will be before he's godzilla sized?!?!?
Later folks..
