Hello. When I first got Gwaners 8mos ago, I didnt really know a whole lot about him. 2mos into having him, I noticed the end of his tail was kinda dry, dark and stiff lookin. It even looked thin. I touched it and thought, it must be dead. Well, one day, his tail was 1 1/2in shorter. It was dead and he lost the tip. Well, the rest of his tail looks great, and the end is nice and healthy looking now. He came from the pet store like that. It was probably due to some bad shedding. He bathes on a regular basis now, so I dont think it will happen again. I wouldnt worry, once the end falls off, it wont bother you. It bothered me, I felt bad for poor gwaners little dead end tail =( Yvette
