A good friend owns a serpentarium in town, which he uses as a home base for an educational "drug-free dinosaur" program he presents to local schools. One of his star attractions is a large 16yr old rhino iguana (which he has owned for about two years). Last week the animal became listless and showed signs of respiratory infection, and under the advice of a vet given a hot soak in water about 100 degrees F, and given 1cc of canine baytril (sp) and placed under a heat light. Within two hours the animal went
ridgid and died soon after. Does anyone have a clue? was the antibiotoic wrong? allergic reaction amybee?
