Hey Iz' mom...well unable to find a thing about either in my pharmacy books (they aren't *that* old...one is from last year!)or my 95 PDR. Did a search on the FDA...and did find that c.s was found to be NOT safe and ineffective. Did pick up some probiotics at the health food store yesterday...so Im ready to put the good stuff back in! One thing with the c.s. you will need to replenish IZ's microflora so Ive read anyway, even tho majority of the claims made say it doesn't destroy the good stuff.
RE: MK's article on Wally...she began using the c.s. then 2 months later Wally died. Some things that bugged me...were that she was also giving mineral oil (which is contraindicated because it strips the body of almost all vitamins including D) and also giving him an alfalfa slurry (*alot* of protein for an ig w/ kidney failure to handle)
I don't know that I would do that if my igs come down w/ kid. dis.
I by no means am saying don't use these two items but sometimes I think our desire for them to work overrides their true effectivenss...kinda like a placebo effect. I know I can count on you to keep us posted so we can learn more! & do your everything for your cutie. I sure hope it works for him...
