: : Would the larger sizes of Reptarium be alright for iguanas? I just got (rescued) a younger ig that measures about 6" SVL. I was looking at the two largest Reptariums, 175gal and 260gal, I think. Thanks for any insight.

: That would be ok for a little while. The smallest cage to keep an iguana in should be--
: 2X its height, 2X the length, 2/3 width, saying a full-grown iguana is 4-5ft--the cage should at smallest
: 8ft high, 8ft long, 3-4ft wide! The iguana should still be let out regularly to run around. If you plan on keeping him
: long term I would suggest looking into building a large enclosure or a lot of people give them an entire room to stay in.
: The bigger the better. Just make sure you feed a good diet of greens, provide adequate heat and humidity and provide plenty of UVB.
: Hope this helps and good luck on your new IG.

That's good to know. I want to try finding a new home soon. He's looking a lot better than when the vet got him, and I want to keep it up. I don't know how long it will take to find someone, but when I do, I want to make sure it is the right person, ya know? So in the interim, I want to get a better enclosure. I had thought of building one, but when I saw the prices of materials, I thought I may just get the Reptarium for now. I could then offer it to the new owners if he's still got room in it, or keep it for a future herp.

The other question: Is MinerAll I okay for him? I'm thinking no, because he's got a UV light, so he should make his own D3, which is what the Minerall gives. Maybe I should get Minerall O instead? Thanks again.
