Can you report a pet store to the SPCA? Cause there's a PETCO here that feeds their iguanas NOTHING but crickets. They're gonna die of kidney failure in no time. There was also a store I visited that had a bunch of Igs in a cage without a heat source or even a light of any kind. Looked like many had MBD. To tell you the truth I felt like punching the owner in his god darn face. And of course there are the places that are proud to announce that their Igs get nothing but the freshest iceberg lettuce. I actually work in a pet store myself and we happen to take very good care of our herps. All the veggie eaters get a salad with kale, sweet potato, peas, etc. dusted with a calcium supplement. All of the herps receive UVB lighting from either Vita-Lite or Reptisun 5.0. When we see ANY signs of sickness or mites or injury the animal(s) is quarantined and medicated and not put back on display until it's fully healed. If we don't know something or can't answer someone's question, we look it up. (Just wanted you to know that not all pet shops are evil!) Why is it so hard for other stores to do this? But anyway, I really want that PETCO to pay. I wonder if I could sue them... lol
