I've given a lot of thought to your questions. The sides of that pool would be slippery but an iguana will continue to try to climb out & could conceivably drive a person nuts with the continuous scratching trying to get purchase so she could get out. And having something to climb on in the middle of the pool at first sounds like a good idea...but the iguana will quickly decide to attempt a death-defying leap to get higher or out of the pool area. Ours have been known to leap down to the ground from as high as 8 feet. Iguanas also prefer to be at the highest point in any given area. I would assume it's because they feel safer/protected this way.

This being said I wondered about the compatability of parrots and iguanas. I don't know anyone who has both so I don't know if there would be a problem or not. Before you make a final decision on the iguana, you might wish to check a forum on birds to see if anyone has had any experience with keeping these two together.
