Hey Marci,

i think it is great you are thinking of adopting a larger ig! To many are abandened when they get that size. I'm glad you came to the forum, as it can teach you alot. There are a few websites you should check out for some general ig care. First off, Melissa Kaplan's site: http://www.sonic.net/~melissk
And Jennifer Swofford's site:
http://www.baskingspot.com

Know those websites, because just about anyone you ask for ig care will refer you to them for more info. Just to let you know, Igs not only climb very good, they can also jump! Mine is only about 2feet long and he can jump about 2feet up. I have heard adult igs can jump 4-6feet in the air. I think your idea is not bad. I mean as long as you put something very high to climb, in the center of the pool, i think he/she will spend most of the time on the High part. But if you don't enclose the ig, be prepared for the Ig to roam around the rest of that room.

Any questions, feel free to ask,
Ron
