Ideally 70-100% all the time! Yeah right! But according to MKs site a few hours per day at that range is all that is needed for them. Remember the hotter it is the higher the humidity. As long as you have some ventilation you should NOT have a problem with mold/mildew. Too much ventilation and you can't maintain it. I use the warm mist humidifiers...work fantastic to get the humidity in 90% range. First thing I did was to put them in without running them for about a week. They would check them out, climb on them, lick them...until they got bored with the weird contraption in their cage....now I run them 3 hours each day...set on timers...they have not bothered with them at all. Once in a while they get the things filthy...throwing potting soil all over them when they're digging. I have the humidifiers almost directly underneath them about 4 feet from their mugs! (be careful not to put directly under path of basking lights either...(more burned out bulbs that way)... Juana's enclosure has 2 double doors made of vinyl coated hardware cloth (way too much ventilation) I used to cover the doors with dampened beach towels until I bought two acrylic peices to fit over the doors ...slide em in & away we go! Another thing you might consider is waterproofing the inside enclosure. There are several real good epoxy's colored or clear may want to add some Kilz to the paint an anti-mold mildew product usually added to bathroom paints...altho it really isn't necessary just make sure enclosure is well air dried about 5 days before allowing your ig back in. That should stop any mold mildew fungus from growing. If you're ig enclosure is NOT waterproofed & you maintain high humidity chances of them getting a fungal infection increase, which is a pain to get rid of cause it takes so long!
