I know what you mean. Sneakers has stubborn sheds on his top spikes. Of course it didn't help the problem that mom (hanging her head in shame) didn't notice that the shed wasn't coming off the spikes so now Sneakers has 2 or 3 dried spike sheds on those upper spikes. I've been using the KY jelly after the bath. Sneakers has been getting kind of a rub down. I spend about 15-30 minutes a night rubbing KY into those spikes.
Last night I got so excited because I got one off. Then I noticed that underneath the one that came off was another old shed...drat and double drat. Luckily, Sneakers has learned that the bathroom is where mommy seems to handle him alot. Bath, towel rub, nail clipping, KY jelly on spikes, and checking him out. Once he's in the livingroom or bedroom with us its playtime.
Besides humidifier, bathing, and KY or lotion treatments the only other thing I can think of is putting Juana in the bathroom anytime anyone takes a shower. Nice warm steamy humidity like in the rain forest. Sneakers seems to really enjoy this when we do it. I keep waiting for the day he pops his head around the shower curtain. LOL
