hmmmmmm.... the ONE thing i've LOVED about this summer (AND NO a/c) is that it was warm enough to move iZ to his new room (BEFORE i have the heating of the room for winter figured out ..... )and iZ has loved the fact that no matter where he goes in the house, he's comfy + cozy ..... but igs DO hate change of ANY kind don't they!!!! *grin*
i'd use a thermometer to monitor the enclosure's temp and take it from there .... but i am VERY GLAD you haven't just left the heat emitter on ..... i'm guessing that it is PROB'LY quite warm enough WITHOUT the emitter on and POSSIBLY way tooooo warm WITH it ON ..... i for one, am ROTTEN at guessing and thermometers are fairly cheap .... (i'd leave the heating pad on LOW for him tho ....)
word of warning .... you may have the opposite problem if you go to a TOTALLY screened cage .....
(may LOSE too much heat in the winter.....) before iZ got his own ROOM, his enclosure had plexiglass on the sides and screen on top and that worked out pretty good .....
Best o' luck!!!!
:P + :)
