I'm not sure where he was getting his information, but from what I have seen, banding marks are almost a standard. Coloring may vary somewhat from a light-brown to a very dark choco-brown. One thing about the bands is that they're not detailed, since the scales are not uniformed, patterns are irregular, as it is with the scales. I believe I've only seen one iguana that I couldn't really make out the bands on, but in that case it was a freshly started regrowth, no more than 7" of new tail.
