In Reply to: iguana sitting... could use some advice! posted by maureen on May 05, 2000 at 13:59:30:
First off, a trip to a reptile vet for a fecal would be in order. Change to diet to collard, turnip, dandelion and mustard greens with squash, snow peas and about 10% fruit. Mine love their salad made in the food processor. I make it for the week. Use dry food for a snack.
What is the temperature in the cage? Does this poor iguana have a UVB light (florescent tube)?
The unfriendliness is typical of a young iguana. Frequent handling will help.
You also might try putting the iguana in a warm tub and see if it will poop. This might help the diet.
