New Ig in town

Ok, I have a few questions here. I just recently "rescued" a 3' ig from a guy that was keeping him in a cage designed for guniea pigs, nothing to climb on and junk for food. We have corrected his eating habits (tks to Melissa Kaplan's suggestions for a diet!!!), and have gotten him a bigger cage while we are building him a proper sized terrarium. He is active, and inquisitive, but I am not so sure that I like his color. It seems that he is a mottled green color. Not quite brown, but not green either. What I was wondering was what I could add to his diet to change his color, so he looks a little healthier. My other concern is his, umm..., bodily excrements. He drops some monster poops, but there is a milky white (sometimes a little orange) substance that comes out with it. What is that and should I be worried? Tks for any help!!!!
