more orange coloring when mad?

I was giving my iguana a bath today, which I haven't done for awhile, and while I was watching him his orange coloring became more pronounced. He was obviously a little upset with the whole business (puffed out at me, kind of threatened to tail whip). Could his being mad cause the more intense orange, or could it have been just being in the water?
