I live in Pheonix and I am very familiar with this
sort of problem. What kind of heating pad do you have?
If it is a human heat pad, set it on low and it will
probably be just fine. If it is a "reptile" heat pad,
install a rheostat so you can adjust the temp.
OR...
You can just leave the heat on (Provided it does not
get ridicilously hot - like 110 or 120), and freeze a
water bottle and then wrap in it paper towels, and put
that in the cage. This will cool the cage, and if
the iguana gets too hot, it can go lay down next to the
bottle or on it.
What is the temp exactly? If it is like 88-95, just
leave the iguana without heat. It might be a little
wierd for the iguana, but it will be PLENTY warm.
