I have two dogs and a cat, but no experience with a ferret. I have had no problems with any of the animals acting out toward one another. There was a lot of healthy curiousity when introducing Bad Boy (our ig) to the household, but we were always CLOSE at hand to supervise. I would have to say that each of them has a healthy respect for the other.
The ig is, by far, the worst antagonist. One of his favorite pasttimes is stalking the dog. (She is a white American Eskimo.) He walks up to her tail and tries to eat the white fluff that, I guess, looks like popcorn to him! LOL The dog is not amused, so she runs to hide behind mommy. Pathetic creature!
Good luck with introducing the two to one another. I hope it works out. Just take it slow and easy. Never let them 'explore' without being right there. It only takes one time of being bitten, stepped on or tossed around to lose an iggy friend.
