Whatever method you decide on, keep in mind they like routine. They should be fed at the same time everyday and taken to the bathroom at the same time every day (if you want them to go in the bath tub). This has worked pretty well for my iguanas. But remember, they can have accidents from time to time. I notice mine is much more apt to have an accident when he is outside of his cage rather than inside it (usually he would prefer not to dirty his living quarters).
This is how it went with my current ig. Sleestack was trained to wait and go in the tub in about 1 month, but then we moved him to his bigger cage-- and he had disgusting finger painting sessions with his feces for many months (didn't like the change). Suddenly, one day he just decided he was potty trained again (out of nowhere) and has not gone in his cage for 5 months (waits until I get home and is taken in the tub). Yesterday he did go in his cage and now I am worried that something is bothering him and he is going to start going again (NOOOOOOOO!) But remember, once you get them on a trend, they stick to it.
