Over the past couple of weeks my son's iguana, Hercules, has develped a peculiar-looking lower jaw. It seems soft and juts out wider than his upper jaw. From what I've read on this board, it seems as though he may have MBD. What exactly is MBD, what causes it and how is it treated? He lives in a large aquarium with both types of light and a heat rock. He eats mostly salad greens and carrots with some peas and bean sprouts. We offer him fruit every day, but he doesn't always eat it. He's eating and poping ok, although he seems to be drinking more than usual. He also may have a broken toe, but the vet checked him out and saw no infection or gangrene, so sent him home with a calcium supplement and said it would heal by itself. Can anyone help me out. Does Hercules have MBD, and if so what should I do?
