what *really* helps us is when iZ takes his daily tub soak, i put a wet washcloth over his back + it soaks his spikes a bit more than usual (+ keeps him warmer and soaking a bit longer) ... i use aloe vera gel on his 'itchy spots', it kinda soaks in and i can lather it on with less mess than with KY ... (KY left a crusty film when i put it on too thick) (*grin*)
