For stubborn spike sheds, I use KY Jelly and have for years. I have lots of luck with it and it works really well for me. I like it because it's water-based (bad idea to used oil-besed products as a shed aid), odorless, non-greasy, non toxic and readily available. I've gotten a real hard time from some peeps about that, but it works like a charm. If you're willing to buy it, that is. :)
Buggie

: I have 9 iguanas, I gave them all their baths and nail clippings over the weekend, what an experience that was. The biggest, a five + foot female, is not very tame, so I was very surprised when it went really well with her. Deiter actually sat still for the clipping and then let me file the points off with no fight what so ever. The little guys, sure did tear my poor arms up though. Does any one have any tips on getting the old spike covers off?
