First, your iguana needs one of two things, either a UVB 5.0 light (mounted no more than 18" away from ig during day) or Non-filtered direct sunlight....this means outside NOT next to a window. The glass in windows, filter out UVB rays so your iguana doesn't get any.
Second thing, slow cut the commerical food out of it's diet by mixing it with fresh greens. Start out, 80 -90% commerical food and 10-20% fresh greens, then the next week go to 60-70% commerical food and 30-40 fresh greens. If your iguana doesn't eat much during 1 of these weeks, hold at that weeks mix level, until he starts eating all of it up. Then go to the next level of mixing.
Have you read information on what greens, fruits, and veggies your iguana can have??? This is very important stuff, it will help determine how healthy your iguana will be.
Also, temps during the day should range from 80 degrees to a basking spot of 95 degrees. Night time temps should be 70 to 80.
Humidity also plays a big part too, you can spray down the iguana food with water, spray the iguana down, run a humidifier 24/7, or all of the above!
If you ever take your iguana in to have blood work done, you will find out that they are easily de-hydrated if not given enough fluids and humidity.
Best wishes,
HD
