yeah, go with some nice astroturf otherwise known as indoor/outdoor carpet ... it's cheap, it's easy to clean ... and ... it's alot safer than any kind of litter, no matter *what* the manufacturer sez!!!
that's what iZ had in his enclosure + it works fine ... it's cheap enough that you can get a couple of 'spare pieces' and just switch them out when they get soiled ...
trust me, you don't want to risk emergency surgery to remove obstructions and the smaller the non-food things, the worse the risk ... i'd stay away from any kind of 'litter' ...
if your ig is small and you just want to line a small 'litter-box' for him, i'd use paper towels ...
