Ok I've ben reading about your problem, but there is another thing to consider as well.
I've seen a hind leg and tail paralysis in one of my Ig's, and the cause was a thiamine deficiency,
however it was brought on by oral antibiotics which destroyed the gut flora
so he wasn't able to synthesize the b vitamin's.
He was paralysed to the point that his hind legs stayed flat againt the tail, the tail couldn't move very well either,
he also had problems pooping, lots of straining.
since yours seemed to be so sudden is there anything that he could have eaten have striped his gut flora?
With my Ig one multi B vitamin shot and he was running around on his back legs across the floor within 12 hrs.
He had tons of energy, it was a fast and complete recovery.
It's a thought, you might try a B injection, it won't hurt as they are water soluable vits. Who knows maybe it'll work!
Thought I'd share this experience, as not all hind leg paralysis is MBD. :)
