I'm assuming that when you say MTB, you actually mean MBD, metabolic bones disease, aka hypocalcemia? UV lights and a good diet will begin correcting MBD right away, and show signs of progress rapidly. How is it that your vet did not give you a diagnosis? Most herp vets can easily diagnose MBD. Are you sure this was a herp vet? Who recommended him to you?
As for the dried ig food question, the best thing you can do is toss it out the door, since it's not a big hit with many iguanas and obviously isn't with yours. (Desert ig, right? Green igs absolutely *don't eat crix, altho a desert ig can do with a small amount of animal protein occasionally). The juv ig food is highly questionable anyways. I recommend you stick with a diet of fresh leafy greens (collards, mustard greens, endive, escarole, turnip greens, dandelion greens [yeah, like the weed. Don't collect unless you're sure their not sprayed], rapini [occasionally], arugula, etc. Fresh veggies like butternut squash, spaghetti squash, parsnips, green string beans, yucca root, prickly pear. (Less veggies than greens). And some good fruit now and then, like papaya, mango, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, occasionally melons. Using a few of these each time you make a salad will be a LOT better recieved than 'some veggies' mixed with juv ig food, believe me. :)
HTH a bit!

: The legs are slllowwwly starting to function. It has been less than a week since this condition was reported to me, but the lizard (Desi) is starting to show signs of improvement. I did take him into a recommended vet over the weekend and wasn't given a diagnosis. I wasn't charged either, which was good. Sunday, Desi started moving his hips ever slow slightly to aid in walking. Monday was pretty much the same. But today, he started using his back right foot. I am told this is possibly or most probably MTB. Is is normal for recovery to be this way? To me this seems rather speedy, although full use has not been established yet. I do see the popular opinion is no animal protein, but I still feed him about 10, 1/4" supplemented crickets a week. I have tried the juvie iguan food, but He will not touch it. I moisten it with water, and mix it in with the veggies, but he picks around it. any suggestions??
