Only thing Ive read is that young iguanas thrive *better* when given a higher plant protein diet. And that plant protein should be greatly reduced when they become adults....In the wild the little ones eat bugs! There's the protein! but don't try this at home!! These little captive babies do not need animal protein of any kind as far as we know TODAY! ...right! Now if you are talking about commercial iguana food..(dried) like that sold at reptile stores..yeah they are different too. Get the one that is labeled "juvie" for the younger ones & just plain old "iguana" food for the adults...the difference ? heck if I know...prolly more protein and vitamins for the babies.....If you are supplementing a young igs diet also....younger iguanas would require daily calcium, and multi-vit sprinkle about 4xs a week....when they get older you gotta taper that off....to maybe 2-3xs a week if at all...depending on the diet you are giving him....Am I confusing you???? I need some sleep!!
To answer your question.....YEAH!
****oh and when your ig gets big enough we'll explain what type of plant proteins are problem proteins because of phytochemicals in them that make them not a good choice to give to our older igs!
