Ring shed as some of you know, is where the old skin doesn't shed and begins to build up as the iguana has numerous sheds. If this isn't taken care of during the first shed, there's a good chance Ring Shed will happen. Since Lola did wind up having Ring Shed, her tail never grew back.
: The option I talked with the Vet about, does show a very good chance Lola's tail would grow back; although we have decided not to have it done.
: I don't know for sure where these sections are located at in an iguanas tail, but my guess would be they'd be spaced out evenly along the whole tail.
: For anyone that has an iguana with a tail that's not growing back, this is a possible option you could look at if you are interested in your iguana having a full length tail again. NOTE: A regrown tail doesn't look like the original one did, the scales and color will most likely be different.
