hi Amanda!
1st let me say that happy, docile ig stories don't sell magazines so you will always see more "horror" stories!!!!!!just like the evening news ....the more awful the story, the more press it'll get .....
in MY VERY NON-PROFESSIONAL OPINION>>>>>
i don't think you need to worry tooooooo much.....YES, his personality WILL change as his hormones surge and YES you WILL need to watch him more closely (like when he's ANYWHERE NEAR you!!!!! *grin*) but it sounds like the 2 of you have "bonded" and i would take that as a very positive sign ..... when mating season hits, you just need to be MORE AWARE of where he is and what he's doing ..... i learned the hard way not to just let iZ sit on the back of my chair during mating season......(watch the ig not the tv!).... but the interesting thing is that altho he's tried many times to "latch on to" my hand with his teeth ...he seems to move in very slow motion when it's a mating thing .... don't know if that's just him???? but he moves verrrrrry slowly and deliberately ...... and so mostly i just need to pay alot of attention to him if he's sitting by me ......
you need to be able to read his mood too ... just like us, he'll have days or times when HE WANTS TO BE ALONE .....LET HIM!!!!! iZ comes out of his room every nite to be sociable but when he's "in one of his moods" i just leave the door to his room open and he can come out or not (usually i carry him downstairs and we have supper together....)
i haven't seen the pic/article you referred to ... BUT ... sounds like you've hit the nail on the head in pointing out the PERSON'S mistakes .....
YES igs have the POTENTIAL to be dangerously agressive ..... i think whether they ARE or NOT pretty much depends on their PERSON .....

does that help at all??????????
hope so.

:P + :)
iZ + mom

ps... and mating season DOES end!!!!!!!
