wow ~ thank you for all the info! iZ's dose works out to *6.5* mg/kg!!! so it sounds very possible that it *is* irritating the soft tissue, tho it does not seem to be painful or tender to him + the swelling has gone down now ...

per recommendations from the VIN forum, am gonna finish out the week with sub-cutaneous injection instead of IM and *also* dilute the Baytril with saline ... it makes for a larger injection, but is still a fairly small dose (3cc) to do sub-q + it didn't seem to bother iZ "as much" tonite ...

wow ~ never thought of writing to Mader himself! it's very weird to me that i've 'talked' with MK, Dr. Frye ... lil ol' me! *grin* ... sounds like an excellent idea tho! i mean, he wrote *the book*! will have to try + condense + *not* ramble ... eeeeek! but thanks for the idea!!! (will let you know when i send it ... you'll have to watch for it for me tho ...)
