Ivermectin can be used as an injection for severe mite infestations. More often in reptiles it is used topically, .5 cc to one quart of water, and used as a spray once a week. I have used it in this fashion and it works remarkably well. It is toxic when ingested by iguanas. I also heard it was very toxic to turts and torts but never confirmed this with the vet.
