Rapini, also called rape, rabe, brocolli leaf, brocolli rabe, brocolli rape and numerous other things, is not a bad green for iguanas to eat occasionally for variety. All of my iguanas are passionately fond of rapini. It has a decent calcium to phosphorus ratio, roughly comparable with collard or mustard greens. (I forget the exact numbers off of the top of my head.) The problem with rapini is that it has highly concentrated deposits of nasty little things called goitrogens. Goitrogens are present in most leafy greens, in small amounts. In over excessive amounts, goitrogens bind iodine and cause goiter. (Cancer like growths on throat area, mainly.) Kale has quite hugh concentrations of goitrogens, which is mainly what makes it something to avoid. Rapini is less concentrated and therefore perfectly ok to use on occasion. I wouldn't recommend giving large amounts more than once a week or so, and always feed with other veggies to dilute the effect. Good luck. Rapini inspires wild gnoshing at my humble abode. :)
