: Batril does have a tendency to cause tissue necrosis at the injection site, that is why my vet hesitates to use it as an injection. Make sure that you never use the same injection site twice. I have had really good luck using it orally in snakes.
I've treated two very stubborn infections on 2 different igs in the past 4 months with Gentamicin injections. Both treatments have been successful when oral antibiotics failed. I did use injection sites close the the upper body and made sure that the ig's fluid intake was increased. Just a thought..... :)
