well, the thing is ~ one of the symptoms i'm seeing with iZ is this weird sort of constipation that i saw last fall at the begining of all this mess ... with encouragement from me, he poops on a daily basis but in the last couple weeks it's changed drastically ... very small poops, very samll amounts even tho he's eating like a pIg ... poop is soft, but am worried his kidneys are swelling again + pressing on his colon, preventing good evacuation .... tho at this time, i still cannot palpate his kidneys ... so i really don't want to risk adding to the constipation problem and then not be able to tell if it's from Amphojel or renal probs ... *heavy sigh*

we are *ALL* amazed at the fantastic progress iZ has made! while that's great, i think we've gone beyond the scope of his doc's experience ... even tho i really believe i finally found THE best ig-vet in the area + the man *did* save iZ's life ... at this point *he* is learning from *us* ... (+ i mean ALL of us collective ig-lovers!)

what started me thinking about Gelusil was Dr. Frye's recommendation last fall to use Milk of Magnesia for iZ's constipation ... he didn't feel the small amount of magnesium would be a problem ... so i'm trying to get some more informed opinions before deciding for sure ... (thanks for the warning about calcium citrate!)... btw, haven't seen any more 'chunks' with his urates in a long time ... *grin*

*sigh* ~ i think i'm losing my mind here ... there's so many positive signs mixed in with the worrisome ones ... but even with all the good stuff, it's just becoming too obvious that something's not quite right yet ... gonna have to start the Baytril again + that just makes me wanna cry ...
