: i recently purchased a two foot iguana from a petstore. in all my experiance with iguanas, (having my own and working in a petstore), I have never seen such hostility. he whips and hisses at me for starters. i figured with the proper amount of handling, he would relex a little. but it's gotten to a point where he won't eat if i'm in the same room as him, or sleep if i make any movement. any advice would be appreciated.
hes probably not use to his enviorement or new home yet it takes time for animals to adjust and settle down dont bother him that much in the beggining he should come around i have my iguana for 2 year and he was fine up until this oct-feb when he went into his 1st breeding season he got nasty for that period of time now he is back to normal he still has days when he dont want to be bothered just like people be patient he must have been ok when you purchased him or you wouldnt have payed money for him right think !
