Hi,
It sounds like the medicine is being given IM. If it is an acceptable option most meds (including Baytril) can be given SC in the loose skin of the neck just in front of the shoulder. The location should be sealed off briefly with a finger following the injection and then briefly massaged. Injection sites should be alternated from side to side at least. I have found this to be much easier than the IM types. However, again you need to check with your vet and see if this would be acceptable. Some vets do not beleive that this is an effective method as SC but I've used it plenty of times and always with good results.
