If he's new to his owner, you,be patient with him and allow him to acclamate to his new surroundings.
For almost 10yrs now,Dan and I have put some of our old t-shirts in their cages, usually in their hide boxes for them to acclamate to our scent. And when we handle them, try in the evenings when they're tired and sleepy,we wear a shirt for two or three days straight, they then smell them on the shirt and we feel they feel safer.Move slowly and speack softly and move slowly and just be patient.Good luck and don't give up.
