i'd make sure that your baby pretty much ALWAYS has some fresh food available ..... iZ would pretty much eat constantly when he first moved in with me .... (he was 1.5 yrs old but came from a baaaaaaad owner ..he was 30" long nose to tail (10" SVL) and weighed .75 pounds .......ouch!) igs have "growth spurts" just like kids do, so sometimes his appetite was be HUGE and othertimes it'll slow down a bit ..... (after all, YOU don't eat the exact same amount every day do you?) (smile)
let's see ..... i'm looking at his "baby book" (i write all his weights and measurements and medications taken , etc. in a notebook)six months after i got him, he'd more than doubled his weight (to 1.6 lb.) and had grown to 38" .....a year after he moved in, his weight was 5 times what it had been originally .... (up to 3.75 lb)
i've NOOO idea if this is a high, low, or "normal" growth rate .... they can vary soooooo much ..... start a baby ig book tho! it's just amazing to keep track of how fast they grow!!!!!

sorry for rambling ..... i start talking about my baby and can't shut up!!!!!!!! (smile)

i'm sure the others can give you good advice on WHAT to feed him .... mine is just feed him OFTEN!
and it'll take a while so don't fret too much ...

"hi baby iguana!!!! awwwwwwww....you are sooooooo cute!!!!! eat your collard greens so you grow big and strong!!!"
