just cuz animals (or peeps!) eat something doesn't mean it's good for them! we are all capable of developing a taste for stuff that's bad for us ... (um, like me + chocolate ... ) ... i don't think animals "instinctively" know what's good + what's bad to eat ... i think it's more of a learned from older animals "if you eat that, you'll die" sorta thing ... but they don't figure it out that "if you eat that, in 3 yrs your kidneys will die" ... know what i mean??

animals + small humans are notorious for eating things that are down right BAD for them just because they think it tastes good ... my favorite example is lead paint flakes ... they taste sweet, kids eat 'em, they get poisoned ... oh, + my rabbit *constantly* chewed on the baseboards in this OLD house we live in til i figured out it was lead paint + had to redo the baseboards ... wondered why his hair was falling out .... DUH ...

rapidly becoming my favorite example is Anti-freeze ... it also tastes sweet ... have seen way too many kids (i work in Peds ICU) come thru cuz they poisoned themselves with that ... and ... the nurses at work use anti-freeze as mice/squirrel poison ... !!!!

ok ~ the long rambling, just woke up point is ~ just because something eats something does not mean it's good for it!!!!
