We can only TRY and GUESS/DUPLICATE what an iguana needs. To follow one particular diet to me is nuts....Variety, Moderation,Better CHOICES is all its about for me. The MK iguana diet doesn't make sense for my *adult igs (who at their age Im trying to PREVENT disease processes like kidney failure!!)as it is very high in plant proteins, phosphorus, phytates and other phytochemicals *I* choose not to feed my igs. In my opinion it is fine for a young, juvie ig who benefit from a higher protein diet. But this is just ME. The more I read into herbivorous/vegetarian diets the more confused I get!!! lolol There are SO many things to be careful of ....oxalates, phytates, tannins, goitrogens, plant toxins, phosphorus, purines, Excess Vitamin A & D....lolol and these are just a few! NO ONE knows for sure what an iguana needs in terms of diet (myself included!)... but if ya find out ...will you please let me know!!EDUCATE YOURSELF!!...Try this Link for Starters!!!!
