I wouldn't worry about atrophy...I'd let him heal the way he wants...excercise when HE wants climbing, walking around exploring what have you...if he wants to sit in one place for 3 days let him. I think igs are much like people when sick...when we aren't feeling great....the best thing for us is to rest for a speedier recovery...I think imposing excercise on him would be more trouble than benefit to him at this point. But like everything....you should ask his vet ...he/she is the true ig-spert. Also...if you don't have IML try the Pet Care Forum...I think its up and running today at about 4pm...Melissa Kaplan even tho she lurks here more than likely is the forum monitor there too...and will dutifully refer you to somewhere on her site to assist you.
