For cleaning thoroughly soak with 1 part bleach to 7 part water. Rinse. Keep doing until satisfied. I had to do something similar but no fly larvae. That is pretty gross. I have an iguana cage painted inside and out with a washable oil base paint. Oil over acrylic. Makes for a lot better clean up because soaks into the wood. Let this air outside for a week or so to kill all fumes. A need idea I thought of for my iguana fecal matter is to line the bottom with cat litter pans with a trash bag insert inside of the litter pan. I put newpaper inside of the bag which is inside of the litter pan. This makes the easiest clean up possible. I put a long branches so he doesn't walk through the fecal matter. I tried astroturf and it sucks to clean up. It is nasty reusing this. You will find out! Hope this info helps.
