Congrats on becoming an ig parent, now for goodness sake take a deep breath and exhale slowly. hehehe. Your going to do fine. Sorry I had to laugh because you remind me of myself not to long ago. Believe me, this isn't the last panic attack your going to have either.

Is that 10/11 inches from nose to tail tip or from nose to base of tail? Just curious.

The 55gal tank should be OK until you can build something bigger. Normally you set one side of the enclosure up to be warmer than the other so the ig can regulate its temp as it wants. Our warm side is about 90 degrees and the cool side is about 80 degrees.

The fresh foods mentioned before are good starters, but as stated don't panic (save it for later) if he doesn't eat right away.

We just use paper towels as a substrate, its easy to keep things clean that way.

You can set up a cool humidifier in the room with the ig. If you don't have a humidifier right now, mist him a couple of times a day.

A couple of people gave you the link to Melissa Kaplan site already. So read, read, read.

Our ig liked to soak in a water dish when he was younger, especially during a shed. It won't hurt to have one in the tank and will help with the humidity.

On one of your last questions about what to do...relax and enjoy. Just remember one word...patience...in fact make it the word you chant to yourself from now on. You've just entered the wonderful world of iguanas.

Joan (you did remember to exhale...didn't you?)
